Turning Two Charlie and Lola Style

Geesh, it sure has taken me a long time to get to this. I was ready to post my Easter stuff but realized I can't do that until I get this B-day stuff out of the way first.

So June's birthday was a big deal this year. I mean, birthday's should ALWAYS be a big deal! And we had fun making it a big deal. Here are lots and lots of pictures to prove it (and this is only from the friend party, there were two more days of celebrating after this that I have yet to post about).

Here is the prep for the cute little flower crayons I made.

Some turned out, most did not. Note to self, do not run the molds under hot water after taking them out of the freezer.

Here are the treat bags filled with the above flower crayons, charlie and lola paperdolls, bubbles, a gummy butterfly, a silly bandz butterfly or some other insect, a pinwheel, and I can't remember what else.
I made these pinwheels, I was so pleased with how they turned out.
Got the idea from Pebbles in my Pocket.

These are images from the "Pin the Flower on Lola" activity we did, which for some reason scared the bejeebers out of the kids. Weird, and funny!

And so was Olive of course!

We decorated some pots and then planted some daisy seeds in the pots. This comes from the Charlie and Lola episode and book "I really wonder what plant I'm growing".

Then we had "The Most Wonderfullest Picnic" with pink milk of course! And other such things.

Birthday Girl! Good thing I put that bib on her. She's the only one that spilled her pink milk!

Tissue paper fun!

She made out like a bandit! I mean, two-year-old gifts are so simple and fun. We've gone through all the bubbles and sidewalk chalk but I have yet to introduce the Play-Doh. I'm just waiting for the right time, when I feel ready to clean up a huge mess.

so basically RSV stinks! and luckily i think we're over the worst of it now with olive. but i hope i never again have to watch as they take an hour and a half to find a vein for the IV to go into olive's poor little dehydrated body. :( okay, maybe it was only an hour but it felt like an hour and a half!

check out those little hospital pajama duds they had olive wear. they were actually paper thin and i think it would be uncomfortable to lay on those knots that were tied in the back. i say boo.
she really has her eye on that diet coke.
thank goodness for the little musical giraffe we brought in. it helped the nurses entertain her while she was getting suctioned. cuteness, right?
here we are, ready to go. this was taken a little bit before we checked out. she's ready and rarin'.

p.s. the little stickers on her cheeks were there to hold the oxygen tube in place and not for decorative purposes. :)

This is what our house is like every morning for breakfast. Charlie and Lola playing on the tv while June eats in her highchair. The best part is that June isn't the only one that is obsessed with Charlie and Lola right now. I absolutely love it!! Thanks YouTube, for having these episodes available. I don't know what we'll do when they run out!

Radiohead Brings Me Back

Has it really been since APRIL 16th since I last blogged? Yikes! Blogging is not my forte. But I sure like reading everyone elses blogs. You all just say it better than me.

But here is something to truly blog about. This will especially be exciting for Carrie. Check out this Radiohead cover! I'm a fan! And for once we can actually hear the lyrics clearly. I think this gal did a whole album of it. I'm looking into it as we speak. Please enjoy:

As for real life, although it's certainly not as exciting as this radiohead cover above, it's going well. I'm officially done with my job as of next Wednesday, although I will still be coming back unofficially working as a temp here and there, part-time, when I can, until the baby comes. Little scared about all of this, but excited at the same time.

Man I have so many pictures I could share but they are all on the camera at home. I think my next post will just be a recap of the last 6 months in pictures. You should really look forward to that. :)

Well I've really been putting off the blogging thing lately just cuz, I don't know, lazy I guess? But we have this new fancy schmancy camera we got back in February that I think takes way better pics than my old rinky dink camera. So I was finally going to post a whole slew of pics taken in the last couple of months with this nice new camera but lo and behold, it's SO fancy that the old card reader I have at work won't read the new memory card. Something about it being an SDHC card, whatever that means, ask Aaron. I know you're saying, well shouldn't you just be working while you're at work and not using company time to update the old blog? True and good point, since the card reader does work just swell on our laptop at home. But, who has time for that sort of thing when you're at home? Here I sit at my computer all day at work. Don't judge.

But I did manage to get these few pics Aaron took of June the day the camera came in the mail. He e-mailed them (through Cheryl, to me) so here is at least a pretty face to look at in the meantime.

Holeedays Update

Okay I make no promises for better blogging this new year - 2010. I did not make that goal, but secretly it would be nice if I were more on top of it.

Our Christmas was fab! We spent much of it with family and played lots of games and ate LOTS of food.

Here are a few pictures to document said fabulous time:

We headed over to Anna and Steven's for the traditional Christmas Breakfast after that and got to use our handy new waffle maker! That bad boy makes a perfect waffle EVERY TIME (the waffle maker, not Aaron)!

June got to open more presents

and loved it!

So Aaron's birthday fell on a Sunday this year and I think Sunday birthdays stink! It was hard to get myself organized and ready for his birthday after just celebrating Christmas. But we did get to attend Music and the Spoken Word up in SLC that morning which was fun.

And here is the cake I made last minute since I totally forgot about a birthday cake (can you believe it?!) and I do blame it on the SUNDAY birthday. It was actually a pretty good cake after all, if I don't say so myself (despite the candle display).

For New Year's eve we went to Brent and Tammy's and ate a delicious meal and played fun Wii games all night. I only got one picture from that night and here it is:

So that pretty much sums it up. It was super hard coming back to work after all the fun we had. I have really been enjoying my Wii Fit I got for Christmas from Aaron. We did lots of things last month.

We went to the mountains for dinner one night.

And got a little dirty (okay maybe the pacifier fell in the dirt and maybe I put it back in her mouth after thinking I had wiped it pretty good, immunities right?)

We ate lots of food and even cried a little bit

Cheryl came to visit (hooray!) and we went to a pumpkin patch one day.

Yes I know it's been forever since I've posted anything. Basically my job just swallowed me whole the last little while and finally spit me out to be a part of the real world (not the MTV show) again.

So I guess I'll just put up a ton of pictures of what's been going on the last couple of months.

Here are a few from when we went camping in August. August mind you, not January or February like you would have guessed from the pictures. Can you believe our luck when it comes to camping? Snow and hail this time for reals!

We went to California in August to see Tyler and Tahnee get married and also to visit Aaron's fam. I didn't get too many pictures unfortunately except isn't it funny that I made sure to get some of one of the most exciting parts of the trip for me: Sprinkles!! I do feel bad we didn't get anything from our fabulous camping trip with Aaron's fam. That was the bomb.com

These are all the babies that were born in the last year on Aaron's side of the family, including cousins and siblings babies. And this is the proud Great Grandmother of them all!

On Labour day we had a rip rousing game of bowling! Here are some pictures from that:

Yes, I'm calling it the Daybreak Temple. I can't even spell the real name of that new temple and plus I think it should have been called Daybreak the whole time, but no one asked me if you can believe it. So for me, it will always be the Daybreak Temple since that is where it's located. Makes total sense! I meant to post this forever ago, since we went forever ago to the openhouse. It was fantastic and I loved it and here we are in front of the big picture of Jesus. :)

June Time

So June (the month, not to be confused with my daughter June) has actually been kind of crazy so far. We decided it wasn't working out so well to have Aaron working, going to school, AND trying to watch June on his days off so the conclusion was for him to quit his part-time job and watch June full-time as well as go to school. This was a hard decision since that means a major cut in our income. Not to mention how emotionally hard it is for me to leave June each morning to go to work, while Dad stays home - I'm jealous of him! It is pretty stressfull to think of how we will work the income thing out. However I have found a few great blogs that give tips on how to get discounts with coupons and such. In fact, I just discovered this blog that I am pretty excited about. I haven't been all the way through the blog yet but it seems like a great idea. $5 dinners? Awesome!

Also, it seems like my milk production has really slowed down which has put me in another stress fit. We're trying some special pills to help boost production so we'll see how that goes. Needless to say I have been having a bad attitude about life in general right now which is lame of me, especially considering the fact that other people have it so much harder, like this girl that I went to high school with. Poor Aaron, having to put up with me lately. I have even been known to throw a 3 yr old tantrum for him. He really deserves a medal!

Well at least we have this adorable little girl to love and enjoy. Here are some pics taken in the last little while:

And Anna, Erin Pettingill and my Mom baked some scrum-diddly-umptious treats to sell:

Memorial Day Camping Extravaganza

We decided to brave the weather and have a go at camping for Memorial Day. It had been raining throughout the weekend so we kind of knew what we were getting into (besides the fact that we did this same thing last year, same time, same place, same kind of weather conditions). Anna's fam came too. It was loads of fun. Well, I guess I should say we made it fun by laughing through all the pouring rain that came through our tents at night. Good times!

Aaron made this delicious dutch oven meal. He was pretty proud of it.

So we've made it a tradition now to bring our Christmas tree to burn to the first camp trip of the year - Memorial Day. It's great fun to strap that thing to the top of the car and get all the stares from everyone as we're driving along.

What up folks. This is Aaron here. Alright so i dont know much about this blogging thing but i hear its all the rage. just so you know, i know someone reading will have noticed that my typing is littered with typographical errors. a good rule of thumb is that i just wont hit the shift button or anything besides the period that isnt a letter. enough of that, here is the awesome part of this post. i would like to introduce my hairy beast of a beautiful daughter, June Esther Davis. she weighed 9 pounds 10 ounces and was 20 and a half inches long. im pretty much in love with her. she kinda reminds me a little of wicket....if you dont know who wicket is.....shame on you and you need to go watch return of the jedi, ewok adventure and battle of endor. fantastic. anyways she has a full head of hair and big blue eyes. the nurses couldnt get enough of her hair and anytime she they took her out she always came back with a new hair doo. so far shes been so fun and just a little bundle of joy. Erin did great when it came to the delivery. if anyone can follow the jargin, Erins water broke at 445 in the morning (she tried to wake me up but i dont remember that at all) and we were at the hospital at 515. when it came time to push, June was at a zero position (still really high in the belly) and it took an hour and a half to get her out. June is home now and you bet that well keep you guys posted.

Sunflower Market

Okay, okay, sorry, I meant to say where I got the delicious $1 strawberries but forgot to and now the deal is no more. It WAS at Sunflower Market - best store ever! If you have one near you, you should go today! I do believe they are still only $1.50 up until Wednesday - not a bad price at all. Yay for strawberries!

Portland and Baby Shower

Okay so here comes the updates on the latest and greatest. I was a little reluctant to post these pictures of Portland because SERIOUSLY? We both look so obese, yikes! It actually makes me laugh. The camera was not our friend for this trip. Or maybe it was all the fabulous food we ate while there. But I do have to say in our defense that we did ALOT of walking in Portland. I mean, I don't know if it balanced all the eating but it did make my feet really tired and sore.

So Valentine's day was spent in Portland and we did the most romantic thing - miniature golf at the crazy neon spooky 3D pirate golf course! We were just walking back to the hotel and stumbled across this guy below and just knew it was meant to be! So here are a few pictures of that:

Here's one of us at the famous haunted pizza parlor in the old town section of Portland. Pretty spooky indeed! I loved it! A little disappointed I didn't see the ghost but oh well.

And here are only a few pics from the the zoo. For sure my favoritest were the elephants - look at that cute little baby elephant with it's mommy!

And then here is an absolutely horrible picture of us at a really cool store in the Pearl District of Portland. Those are chairs made out of tires, suprisingly comfy. It was a store full of the most random stuff ever, my favorite kind of store I think.

Next thing to report is the most fabulous baby shower I had on Saturday - all thanks goes to Amanda, Anna, and Camille for all they did (and also those that helped contribute amazing yummy food)! Everything was perfect and so cute and, well, you can see for yourself below:

So I know it's been awhile since I've updated this thing but seriously, January is just such a blah month! I keep thinking, what can I even say? Unless I were super creative and witty and could make something so ordinary sound so interesting and fun, but no. I look to other bloggers for that sort of thing.

We have started decorating the nursery for the baby and it's getting me pretty excited. We painted the walls and put the crib up - no bedding yet, but soon. It's coming along nicely. I don't have a pic yet but one of these days I'll post one.

There is one little event coming up that Aaron and I are getting excited for. We decided just on a whim to take a trip to Portland before the baby comes. Our last hoorah before becoming a family of three. Yay! I've only been there once, I think. I can't even remember if that's where I went when I was in Oregon at the age of 12. Aaron and I would eventually like to live in Oregon so this will be fun to check it out a bit and just relax, walk around, whatever. So we'll be going for President's Day weekend in February. That's coming right up!

Also, good news for me - this baby likes RADIOHEAD! Thank goodness and what a relief. That was sort of a must, and now she confirmed it this morning on the way to work. Hail to the Thief!

Christmas Differences

So after I married Aaron in the summer of 2007 Christmas quickly rolled around that year. All was going well until we discovered we both had a completely different idea of how our Christmas tree should look. It turns out he grew up with COLORED lights on his tree (yuck!) and I always went with the much classier WHITE lights. :) So we had to make a compromise. The decision was that we could switch off every other year with the main real tree in our front room and keep the little fake tree in our bedroom with the other set of lights. That worked well last year when it was my turn to have the white lights on the main tree but this year is the colored light year. Well, it's not THAT bad, just not my favorite. At least I get my little tree with white lights to fall asleep to each night.

Now I guess I should go ahead and post a preggos picture since that's what people do, even though I have mixed feelings about it. I decided this one was okay cuz it kind of hides my extra fat that isn't baby. Don't be fooled though! :)

It's Official!!

Well it's official, it's definitely a girl. Some guy just told me so in the gas station this morning. He says he has the gift. I was just standing in line getting some milk this morning and there he was behind me beaming from ear to ear. He said he "sees" a girl. I told him he was right. Amazing! He says that makes 5 out of 5. I should have got his number so other people could call him to find out what they were having. Forget ultrasounds!!

Thanksgiving Present and Past

So I'm finally getting to the Thanksgiving post. It's just that everyone needs to know right here and now that we are AWFUL at taking pictures!! Having this blog will hopefully help me to be better but no promises.

As I look through these pictures we took this Thanksgiving I'm almost embarrassed, they really aren't too great. Especially the one of us at the movie theater, I debated about even including that but since it's one of the few we have of that blessed day I thought I'd better. Plus not to mention I look like a TOTAL fatty, yuck!

So to make up for it, I found pictures from last Thanksgiving when Aaron and I went to Disneyland, it was actually the day after Thanksgiving.

Not much going on here. We bought a new car this week, pretty cool. I'll get some pictures soon. Maybe just one picture. Not a ton cuz that would be boring, looking at all these pictures of our new car, I realize.

One Week Later

It's been a week and now I'm back to update, but that's what's funny, it's not like there's a ton going on that I can thrill you all with. Except we did have our 20 week ultrasound on Wednesday, that was pretty thrilling for us. All is well with our baby girl and here are the ultrasound pictures to prove it:

Also I want to highly recomend going to the IHOP when you accidentally wake up at 4 in the morning. That's what we did this week on Tuesday and it was a real hoot! Who knows why I woke up so early but I certainly wasn't going to let Aaron keep sleeping when I was wide awake like that. So off we went for an early morning breakfast. The best part? I had a coupon!!

Last thing, I've really been trying to figure out how to post songs for you all to hear and download, it must be a super secret magical trick since I can't seem to figure it out. It's true, I mean, I guess it's time I join this advanced world of keeping in touch through blogging but I really have no idea what I'm doing. I admit I enjoy seeing what everyone else is doing and all the cute pictures and such people post on their blogs all day, which means I'm one of those blog stalkers right?

So I decided maybe it's my turn.I'm calling this Aaron & Erin's Blog but really it's just going to be me rambling on, I'm sure. And I am making no promises of being interesting and witty with this blog. I've lost my talent for that unfortunately. Just look forward to random thoughts and updates from me - the girl Erin!

Speaking of updates, I think I just felt the baby kick for the first time but how can one really know if that's what it was when it's the first time being pregnant??
